Small Animal ::: Indian Palm Squirrel

Squirrels belong to a large family of small - medium sized rodents called the Sciuridae. Squirrels have been introduced to Australia.Squirrel word first specified in 1327. It comes from Anglo Norman esquirel .Squirrels are small animals.Their size at 7-10cm in length and 10g in weight.Squirrels have slender bodies with bushy tails and large eyes.Squirrels live in every habitat from tropical rainforest to semiarid desert.As they have large eyes they have an excellent sense of vision which is very important for tree-dwelling species.
Squirrels can't digest cellulose, so they must rely on foods rich in protein,carbohydrates and fats.The family includes tree squirrels,ground squirrels,chipmunks,marmots,flying squirrels and prairie dogs.

Above photo is a Indian Palm Squirrel which is most widely seen in India..Photo taken at my home when squirrel is in search operation of its food. I capture it when it was on my home compound wall.
