Plumeria is related to Oleander, Nerium Oleander and both possess and irritant. Plumeria flowers are most fragrant at night in order to lure sphinx moths to pollinate them.Plumeria species may be easily propagated from cutting of leafless stem tips in spring. Plumeria is named in honor of the French botanist Charles Plumier.

Plumeria may reach a height of 30' to 40' and half as wide. They have widely spaced thick succulent branches, round or pointed, long leather, fleshy leaves in clusters near the branch tips. Sensitive to cold, leaves tend to fall in early winter since they are deciduous

Plumeria is a genus of flowering plnats of family that includes the Apocynaceae. It contains 7-8 spices. They are usually found in Central America, Maxico, New Zealand and Brazil.
Common name is Frangipani. It is widely used to make perfumes.The beauty of champa is compared to Radhika, who is wife of lord Krishna and honey-bees are servants and that's why honey-bees don't sit on the champa flower.
